The history of Evia dates back to the middle of the twentieth century when, in 1948, two entrepreneurs living in Eibar founded the company named "Suministros Evia", with headquarters in the street called Calle Txonta.
In an area with a deep-rooted gun making tradition, Francisco Gutiérrez and Rodolfo Echeverría started up a company centred on the world of fishing.
These initial years were dedicated to marketing fishing-related items and the company also started to manufacture its own fishing spoons. The company's efforts and dedication were soon to bear fruit.
Still today, 59 years later, the Evia spoons are a benchmark for freshwater and saltwater fishing alike, at both a national and international level.
In fact, it is no mere chance that the original company brand name carried an icon of a spoon alongside the company logo. Based on this historical trademark, and after several changes, the company finally arrived at its current logo which brings to mind the image of a fishing spoon.
